Looking For the Perfect Cycling Bicycle?

There are a lot of different criteria to consider when you are buying a cycling bicycle. Choosing their next bicycle is difficult, even for professional riders. Because there are so many choices, it is hard to buy a new bike. You need to think about safety, comfort, what the bike will be used for, how often the bicycle will be used, where the bicycle will be used and, if we’re being honest: style. How can you make a decision when there are so many different choices available, and new options being released every day? Opting for the correct bike for you is as easy as using these simple criteria.

How your bike brakes is incredibly important. You have to think about what you are most comfortable with along the lines of stopping your bicycle. Those who do not use their bikes very regularly will be happy with normal brakes, those which simply squeeze the tire with two small pads to slow the bike down. If you are going to be using your bicycle more often or in heavy terrain, you will want brakes that are a little more hard core and complicated. For such cycling you should look to disc brakes, these are located within the wheel itself and are less likely to be weakened over time or worse, fail.

Do you need extra gadgets for your bike? If you have to move things using your bike, you’ll certainly want to add a basket. Will you be travelling with a child? Then you have to choose a bike that will allow for a child seat attachment. How about towing something behind the bike? You will have to get a bike that can support the trailer's weight.

It is important that you allow adequate room between you and the crossbar. When browsing for a bike try some out, make sure the seat is a few inches above the crossbar. You should be able to still rest your feet flat on the floor. Each type of bike requires different clearances. A good example is a touring bike, with these bikes you will only need around 1" difference. If you are buying a mountain bike you’ll want more—three inches or so between you and the crossbar. You need to consider several things when choosing your bicycle for the first time. Are you going to be using your bike every day or will you only be riding every so often? What seat height gives you the most comfortable ride? Would you rather be able to put your feet flat on the ground or would you see rather have that few inches between your feet and the ground when you are sitting down? Think about all this when buying your bike, and you will make the right choice.
